Released:
Label: A&M
The triple-disc Echo of Miles collects the many b-sides, demos, compilation-only cuts and live recordings (including several Peel Sessions) that never made it on one of Soundgarden's six full-lengths. Spanning the group's full career, the sprawling anthology does an excellent job of charting their gradual evolution from indie riff-ragers to arena-rock gods. Also vital to note are the presence of new re-recordings of "Kristi" and "Storm," a pair of songs from the mid-'80s, back when young Soundgarden were obsessed with unleashing a raw, pain-as-pleasure iteration of hesher psychedelia.
