At times Sleepy Sun's aural sludge can feel so carefully crafted it's almost an anomaly: The good students wanna be wild, so they study up what "wild" means and then do it, to the letter. But that swell and furry underpinning gives weight to what are often excellent forays into folk, "Ooh Boy" and "Rigamaroo" among them. Without it, Fever might have floated away. Instead it walks among the ghosts of '70s rock without getting intimidated. There are good surprises -- the shimmering noise of "Acid Love," the skeletal blues of "Freedom Line" -- and few wasted chances.
