Released:
Label: Mercury UK
Disc one of Classics & Collectibles isn't unlike most Scott Walker anthologies: a nice selection of Walker Brothers hits and songs from the singer's first four solo albums. Where this collection gets interesting is on the second disc. It's here hardcore fans can hear cuts from long out-of-print albums Scott Walker Sings Songs From His TV Series, 'Til the Band Comes In, The Moviegoer and Any Day Now. Though Walker has always believed these records to be unrepresentative of his vision, they do contain some really good tunes, like "Lost in the Stars" and the Randy Newman composition "Cowboy."
