About Rhett Miller
Pretty as a picture and wont to tug at the alt cowgirls' heartstrings, it's little wonder that singer and songwriter Rhett Miller had a long and public feud with Ryan Adams. Miller has successfully juggled a solo career with his leadership of Dallas-based alt country act Old '97s, with which he rose to prominence in the No Depression vogue of the mid-1990s. Though Old '97s have steadily released a slew of records during their 15-year run, Miller's first venture as a solo artist came in 1989 with Mythologies, and he waited 13 years for the follow-up, an Elektra-issued set of decidedly poppy tunes called The Instigator. He found some success placing songs in television and commercial spots and released a third LP in 2006, The Believer.
