Though Thank You Mr. Churchill is a loosely constructed song cycle addressing life, death, heartache and the challenges of modern civilization, it's a guitar record more than anything else. At age 60, Frampton can still play a mean ax, possibly better than ever. The most obvious evidence is "Suite Liberte," a two-part composition echoing Peter Green's forays into a blues-rock-classical fusion ("Oh Well" and "Albatross"). But also spend some time with "Solution"; its solo is really kind of awesome.
