Yet another MySpace-born and bred band (guitarist/vocalist Trace Cyrus recruited keyboardist Blake Healy via MySpace message), Metro Station seem to have what it takes to make it beyond Tom et al, judging by their first single. "Kelsey" is a smorgasbord of recent trends: emo vocals that are sensitive without being wimpy, a bit of synth-rock tempered by some pretty danceable beats, and production (and pedigree) by punk-popsters Motion City Soundtrack. More importantly, they have cute haircuts and 30,000 friends.
