Guster's fifth studio album is the first to feature multi-instrumentalist Joe Pisapia as an official member of the band. Pisapia, whom percussionist Brian Rosenworcel says is "to Guster what Graham Parsons was to the Byrds," adds depth and virtuosity to the newly-rechristened quartet's already smooth, ear-hugging sound. Electric keyboards and bass might surprise longtime fans, but plenty of acoustic guitars, wry lyricism and warm harmonies are still present. "One Man Wrecking Machine" is the epitome of Guster's revitalized palette.
