Debbie Harry's first solo album puts her and Blondie's Chris Stein face-to-face with Chic's Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. This kind of punk/dance-pop/hip-hop melting pot would later define the careers of everyone from Madonna and Gwen Stefani to Beck. That said, being ahead of the curve by two decades doesn't make the album that memorable (Chris Stein was very ill at the time). Harry's rock belting doesn't always mesh with Rodgers' airy funk, so tough guitar cuts like "Inner City Spillover" and "Under Arrest" come off best. Still, "The Jam Was Moving" proves the fusion could work.
