Label: Legacy Recordings
This is a thoughtfully produced collection, because it accounts for the fact that Love, who possessed one of the most sublime voices of the '60s, achieved her success under a succession of guises: The Crystals ("He's a Rebel," "He's Sure The Boy I Love"), Bob B. Soxx & the Blue Jeans ("Why Do Lovers Break Each Others Hearts?") and The Blossoms ("That's When the Tears Start"). Though the singles Love recorded under her own name didn't perform nearly as well, there's no denying the power of tracks like "A Fine, Fine Boy" and "Lord, If You're a Woman," the latter of which she recorded in 1975.
