Label: Verve Reissues
While Bruce Palmer followed Neil Young down from Canada, he was always overshadowed by his fellow Buffalo Springfield members. Recorded for the legendary jazz label Verve, The Cycle Is Complete features extended improvised jams that combine raga-jazz with astral folk-rock and a seriously cosmic vibe (think of Gabor Szabo's East-West hippie bop, the Mahavishnu Orchestra and the Celtic Voyager side of Van Morrison). A commercial flop, Palmer's only solo set has actually aged well; despite its reputation as an acid-causality curio, it achieves long stretches of good cosmic vibrations.
