Blue Rodeo

About Blue Rodeo

Though a mere club-level ripple in the USA, veteran Canadian band Blue Rodeo have enjoyed multi-platinum success in their home country during their sixteen-plus-year career. Fronted by two singer-songwriters/guitarists, BR have often been compared to bands such as Buffalo Springfield, the Byrds, and other American Country Rock icons. This is only part of the story -- since releasing their first record in 1987, the band's primary singer-songwriters Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor have developed into a pair of spare, literate tunesmiths and affecting harmony singers. Their songs evince the same hard-to-pin-down sense of place that exists in the songs of fellow Canadian songwriters Gordon Lightfoot and Ron Sexsmith.
