There's a commercial resurgence running throughout this month's punk/emo roundup. For starters, Panic! At the Disco and AFI return to mainstream prominence with their new albums. Likewise, Fall Out Boy strip down for the blistering PAX AM Days, a punky collaboration with Ryan Adams, and New Found Glory bring the mosh-ready anthems to your living room on Kill It Live. But it's not all about the heavy hitters this time around. Divided By Friday rebrand with a slick, gospel-heavy pop sound; Florida pop rockers Mayday Parade notch their best sales week ever with Monsters in the Closet; and blue-collar punks The Swellers battle adversity on The Light Under Closed Doors. And, not to be outdone, protest singer Kevin Devine drops two new Kickstarter-funded albums, one as Kevin Devine and the other as Kevin Devine & the Goddamn Band, produced by Brand New's Jesse Lacey.
