Pussy Galore's Scuzz Empire

About this playlist

As N.Y.C.'s filthiest garage-noise-rock guitar-orgy band, Pussy Galore wrote the book on Stones/Stooges worship in the late '80s, when everyone else was wearing paisley and trying to sound like The Beau Brummels. With up to four out-of-tune guitars blaring over an overturned-trash-can drum set, this music is just the tiniest bit abrasive, and they weren't exactly loved by critics. But screw that: "Sweet Little Hi-Fi," "Alright" and "Dick Johnson" can't be played loud enough, to name just three. And there's no denying the early days of Jon Spencer's sped-out Elvis persona here. Please crank it and bum out pretty much anyone within earshot.
