To call Wavvves a carbon copy of the dude's self-titled debut is an understatement. In addition to near-identical titles and cover pix, both albums are primitive blasts of lo-fi bubblegum -- "Fun, Fun, Fun" fed through psycho-delic static lunacy and teenage hormonal restlessness. Even track names are kind of the same. Most of them allude to surf, sun, beaches, California, summer, kids, boredom and, uh, goths. So yeah, Nathan Williams is a one-trick pony and damn proud of it. Good for him!
