Slow Death by The Flamin' Groovies

Album

Play on Napster
Released:
Label: Norton Records
A must-have for Groovies' fans, Slow Death collects demos from various places: sessions with Dave Edmunds at the knobs, self-recorded material from their early days, etc. The first six songs are from 1971 and feature the band at some of their most ferociously ill-recorded (read: perfect) -- a barreling, definitive version of "Slow Death" and a treble-drenched cover of "Jumpin' Jack Flash," replete with fake audience cheers and vocal-mic distorting exuberance that rivals the Stones' version. "Big" hit "Shake Some Action" shows up with a little more muscle than on the original.
