About The Broken West

The Broken West formed in LA in 2004 as the Brokedown, but changed their name in the fall of 2006 out of concern that a legal battle would begin with the Chicago band of the same name. They self-released an acclaimed EP, The Dutchman's Gold in 2005 and toured extensively through the US. In January 2007, Merge issued their debut LP, I Can't Go On, I'll Go On, a collection of smartly orchestrated pop.
