Remember how Primal Scream turned itself into the Black Crowes of Madchester, with all that greasy riffage and chunky dance grooves? Well, Switches strive for the same sassy rock-star vibe, even though the London group uses different ingredients, namely thumping electro and the White Stripes-inspired garage. Then again, this aesthetic isn't set in stone. Both "Coming Down" and "The Need to Be Needed" are power-pop gems channeling a lot of Weezer. The latter is practically a Pinkerton outtake.
