Released:
Label: Verve Records
This became Shirley Horn's first No. 1 jazz album, helped along by a guest spot from Miles Davis on the distilled, haunted title track. Miles was Horn's longtime champion and it was nice to see that his belief in her abilities finally paid off. Once again, Horn dusts off a couple of lesser-recorded Sinatra numbers -- the upbeat "Come Dance With Me," and a seering reading of "All My Tomorrows," where she starts out defeated but ends up defiant.
