A drag queen's job is to find the line between "real" and "fake" and teeter across it in sky-high stilettos so often you can't quite tell where it is. Well, on her fifth album, RuPaul works. Glamazon is a spot-on impersonation of contemporary pop, each track serving sexy beats and sleek synths -- then pulling off the wig with draggy lyrics about heels or, um, "Responsitrannity." But RuPaul can actually sing, and, for goodness sake, she's got presence. So cuts like "I Bring the Beat," which does a better Black Eyed Peas than BEP, make one wonder just where exactly pop "realness" begins.
