Released:
Label: Capitol Nashville
Luke Bryan's sophomore effort finds the country hottie singing about what he knows best: life in the country. Sometimes he nails it in a refreshing and funny way, as in "Rain is a Good Thing" ("Rain makes corn/Corn makes whiskey/Whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky"). Other times, he evokes too many worn-out Southern cliches. Still, there's plenty to like here, including the positive "Chuggin' Along" ("Put the good times in your pocket/Let the bad ones make you strong/And keep chuggin' along"), the breakup song, "Someone Else Calling You Baby," and his big hit, "Do I."
