For over 20 years now, Lil' Ed has been making stone-cold party music. And as the title Full Tilt suggests, he ain't stopping anytime soon. Most of this album rocks with up-tempo jammers and Ed's blistering slide guitar. Yet even when he's grooving on the slow side, as on the lurid "Check My Baby's Oil," the band drops the hammer while Ed howls "I gotta check my baby's oil/ Somebody's sticking their dipstick in the oil pan." So yeah, this is some raunchy blues -- just the way Chicago likes it.
