Released:
Label: Interscope
Despite Tom Chaplin's angelic voice and Keane's penchant for uplifting anthems, the band's sophomore effort finds our heroes treading in surprisingly dark and dour water. The boys are seriously bummed out by free trade issues, the ongoing war in the Middle East and untrustworthy political leaders and it colors the entire CD, particularly in songs such as "Is It Any Wonder?" and "A Bad Dream." But the band offers a glimmer of hope in the stunning "Crystal Ball" and "Try Again."
