Released:
Label: Rex Recordings
Most of these tracks have been available elsewhere, so this is more a mixtape and not Keak's heavily anticipated post-hyphy reintroduction. But there are some genuine gems here. The rumbling, bluesy "Same O' Thang" is the perfect backdrop for the gravely voiced Keak ruminating over the monotony of ghetto life, while the emcee's knotty double time flow on "High Tonight" is a thing of beauty. Unfortunately, there are a lot of guest spots, and some of the tracks sound very dated, but when Keak steps to the mic, the East Bay emcee is compelling as always.
