Released:
Label: A&M / Octone Records
Fluttering through seven demos, remixes and unearthed early cuts in 25 minutes, this odds-and-sods maxi-EP sounds more unplugged, and often more explicitly Christian, than Flyleaf's two regular-issue albums. Lacey Mosley's quavering vibrato, depressive but hopeful at the forefront of a frequently uncooked mix, shows echoes of Bjork and Dolores O'Riordan. "Justice & Mercy" and "Okay" juxtapose sacramental language with lullaby melodies and goth vocal backup; "Amy Says" seems to concern a troubled teen. To close, Evanescence alumnus Ben Moody adds tentative dance beats to the 2009 song "Arise."
