Released:
Label: Sumerian Records
Following in the footsteps of Team Sleep and Palms, Crosses (often depicted as †††) is yet another side project from the prolific Chino Moreno (who isn't a big fan of vacations, apparently). The trio's debut finds the Deftones singer exploring his interest in the more electronic manifestations of alt-rock. Though nothing here is quite as mind-blowing as the Deftones' best material, the album is littered with interesting cuts. Two immediate standouts are "Trophy" and "Bermuda Locket," both of which are gauzy and narcotic and would be perfect fodder for industrial-tinged remixes by Trent Reznor.
