This review could really stop with that album title: Barry Brown? The Scientist?? King Tubby??? Roots Radics???? As you can probably guess, this showcase is utterly mind-blowing. Much like Linval Thompson and Johnny Osbourne circa the classic "Back Off (Ringcraft)," singer Barry Brown bridged older roots reggae and the dancehall styles then emerging in the early 1980s. The Scientist drops some truly heady dubs, especially "Love Dub" and the pulsating "Girlfriend in Dub."
