About Axel Krygier
Some musicians push the boundaries of what popular music is and can be, and Axel Krygier is one of those musicians. It may stem from his mastery of multiple instruments, or his seemingly voracious musical tastes, but the distinctions that exist for so many artists fall off the map for Krygier. Jazz, rock, pop, Argentinean folk music, Indian classical music ... they all have something to contribute to Krygier's remarkably coherent musical vision. He grew up in Buenos Aires playing flute, piano and saxophone, among other instruments, and he began composing on the piano when he was 18 years old. His professional music career began in earnest when he became part of La Portuaria, the respected Argentinean rock band that released four albums before dissolving in 1996. Free to pursue his own sound, Krygier found himself composing a lot of music for film and dance performances. In 1999 he released his solo debut, Echale Semilla, wowing critics and fans alike.
